We just had a ministry workers meeting tonight at church and one of the Scriptures quoted was in Deuteronomy 5:31 the says, "But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee..." Regardless of what others do and say there is a place that the Lord calls the believer to, a place where He will speak to our hearts and open to us the Scriptures. It is in that place where we gain comfort and spiritual insight and wisdom, for He lays up sound wisdom fro His people. Have you stood by the Lord Jesus today? He is calling you there today! May God bless you!
Earlier tonight we held a prayer meeting at church. One of the ladies came whose feet were hurting real bad. She asked us to pray for her, so we all gathered around her and called on the name of the Lord. Jesus heard our prayer and healed her! She told us about 15 minutes later as we walked to the cars that her feet felt sooo much better!! Yes, the Lord still answers prayer, and He will answer you, too!
Tonight after church I witnessed a miracle. I received a call from the family of a former member of our church (he had health issues and couldn't attend church any more). His sister told me the doctor said to call all the family and pastor in to see him for one last time because they didn't expect him to last the night. When my wife and I arrived everyone was sad and the man didn't really respond too much. But at some point during the visit my wife told me to look him in the eye. When I did his eyes opened wide and he said, "Pastor Bossidy!" He hugged me for a long time and then hugged everyone else there, too. We ended up talking for quite a while until the nurse came in to take care of him. We all knew the Lord came into the room at that moment! God still loves each of us. The Bible asks, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" (Genesis 18:14). If you are facing an impossible situation, put your trust in the Lord. Who knows what God will do
As I was praying this morning, it struck me many different titles or names the Lord Jesus was given in the Bible. He was called Emmanuel (God with us); Provider; Physician/ Healer; Captain of our salvation; The Way, the truth, the life; Alpha & Omega, the First and the Last; the Beginning and the End; The Resurrection and the Life; The Door; The Good Shepherd; The Great Shepherd and Bishop of our souls; The High Priest and Apostle; The Vine; The Light of the World; Master and Lord; The Christ (Messiah), the Son of the Living God; The Son of Man; I Am; Redeemer; The Word made flesh; The Lamb of God; The Faithful and True Witness; The First Begotten from the Dead; The Prince of the Kings of the earth; Isaiah called Him Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace; A Man of Sorrows; My Righteous Servant; The Savior of man; King of kings, and Lord of lords; My Friend!! The Bridegroom; Son of David (the root and offspring); The Mediator; The Bright and Morning Star... These are just a few names referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. he earned every name listed here and then some! What is your need today? I think the Lord Jesus is well able to meet each one, don't you? May God bless you!
Jeremiah 15:16 says, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord of hosts." This passage was written at a difficult time in Israel. The prophet spoke things that people did not agree with and they actually hated him for it. While everyone else went and did their own thing, the prophet took to his knees and he found the Word of the Lord! When a person has been called by the name of the Lord, nothing can take the place of the joy experienced when they hear God's Word. It is the joy and rejoicing of the heart. It is our strength, our guidance, and our comfort in times of turmoil and discouragement. Take the time to pray today: the Lord is waiting to speak to your heart! May God bless you!
In Psalm 63 David wrote these verses while he was in the wilderness of Judah: "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary." There is something about the sanctuary that is seen by those who faithfully attend to it. They will behold the power and the glory of the Lord! David looked for the power and glory of the Lord every time he entered the sanctuary. I know that if you get your children involved with the things of God they will have a sanctuary to turn to in their struggles. They must be taught how to use their faith. We never let our children stay away from the altar. We always directed them to the Sunday School and the activities of the church. They responded to what they were taught. Many times games and different activities in the world can become spiritually dry, so we taught the kids to love church, get involved there, and took the time to explain the Word of God to them. They fell in love with Jesus and the things of God! They now know what to do and where to go when they pass through their wilderness! Take the time to share the Bible with your children this week: you all will learn and grow and be satisfied with God's goodness! May God bless you!
In Isaiah 58:7-12 the prophet spoke of how the church would be "the restorer of paths to dwell in." We saw that at church today. The mother of a woman at church passed away and our church performed the service and held the repast at the church. I sat around a table and heard with my own ears 3 or 4 people speak to each other for the 1st time in 20 years! Many times misunderstandings and then grudges tear apart families needlessly. A brother who was out of state called while we sat around the table. The daughter answered so excitedly, "Daddy!" They had been estranged for years. She passed the phone around to her aunts (his sisters) and they were able to get his address and phone number! It was such a beautiful setting. This man thought his daughter and family hated him, while all the while they loved him and missed him. One sister said he had been her world when she was going through a hard time. That's how they viewed him, but he didn't see it. I'm so glad we serve a God who restores families and raises up His paths for us to dwell in. Let me encourage you to draw out your soul to those around you who may be afflicted and to satisfy the hungry soul. If you do, the Bible says the Lord will satisfy your soul in drought and make your heart like a watered garden: your waters will never fail! You will be able to refresh others with the same refreshing God gives you! May God bless you today.
We went to a local convalescent home today and had a wonderful service. A woman who had suffered great loss in her life and struggled with her faith came out to the meeting for the 1st time. The message was that the Lord said several times "Come unto Me." If we come to Him He will give our souls rest. If we come to Him He will heal our broken hearts. If we come to Him He will in no wise cast out. It appeared she was being ministered to throughout the service as the Spirit spoke to her heart. Sometimes that 1st step towards God is the longest, but if we're willing to trust Him He will heal our hearts. Come to Jesus today and He will give you rest! May God bless you!
