One day last week I knelt at the altar and asked the Lord to help me in a certain situation. I opened my Bible and my eyes came across these gracious words from Isaiah 41:13, "Fear not; I will help thee." That's all I was asking the Lord: please help me. And His Word said He would help me! Now a week later, I look back and realize that He did indeed help me there and in several situations that arose that I didn't even know would take place. This is how simple the Word of God is. We look for big revelations and complicated answers, but quite simply, He helped me! Our God will help you, too! Pray to Him, don't lean on your own understanding, and He will direct your
Matthew 2:2, "Saying, Where is He that is born king of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him." This star has fascinated me for many years. What was the star? If it was a celestial object how could it bring these wise men to the exact house in Bethlehem where Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lived? The wise men went to Jerusalem to ask where He was and it troubled the king and all the city. The wise men lost sight of the star when they inquired of the world about the Lord. Unbelievers cannot lead you to where the Lord is. They are in darkness and the light they have is artificial at best. It wasn't until they departed from Herod's presence that they saw the star again. "When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was" (Math. 2:9). If you have lost sight of where to find the Lord Jesus, let me encourage you: don't go to unbelievers, or worldly people. You will find the Lord Jesus among His people, those who love Him and believe His Word! "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy." When you truly find the way back to the Lord, you, too, will rejoice with exceeding great joy! May God bless you today.
I Peter 2:9 tells us we are a generation chosen by God for His reasons. He took us from the darkness of this world and brought us into His marvelous kingdom. We are very unique: a people for His name. You may never be the most popular person in the world but every born again believer is of a royal priesthood; "...that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." Regardless of your circumstances always remember who you are to Christ Jesus. You are never alone. May God bless you today!
